So it was my second sunday at RHCCC and I was asked to help this week’s worship team by Randy, the Celebration deacon. I’m not too sure if I “helped”, hehe, but I definitely learned some of the technical issues of the sanctuary. Some things will need to be checked and fixed so that the teams can operate properly. I’m finding talking with the audio people is going to require a lot of clarity and diplomacy. I think as worship leaders we tend to just sort of come across as “yelling” at our sound team but we should instead cherish them and treat them like PART of the worship team serving God and His people. I hope I can find a good timing to introduce some of the things I have been thinking about for the worship ministry soon. I think I will be patient and wait for God’s timing, not my own. Working with anybody new, Christian or non, it always takes sensitivity and relationship development. God help me, He will show me the right time ;)

Another note, after worship, lo and behold I see this two familiar figures coming towards me in the sanctuary… Kong and his wife Dee! WOW! I haven’t seen them in ages! I didn’t even know they attended this church! It was quite surprising to see one of the people I looked up to at TCBC as a mature christian and a former worship leader was now at RHCCC. It was so great to see both of them and I felt God was encouraging me today to press on towards the goal at RH. They also re-introduced me to John Wong, who also used to go to TCBC! This guy used to tell me freaky ghost stories at Adult Fellowship retreat and mess with my mind! lol! But ya, today I felt blessed and especially thankful.

If ANYTHING today, I felt God shake me and tell me, “Shu, be thankful for whatever circumstance you’re in, because I am working, my Grace is sufficient”. Just like singing “Your Grace is Sufficent” at TCPC’s community outreach open house yesterday in my solo acoustic set… I think my dry season is coming to an end. Now… if only I could finish some of the songs I’ve been writing… :p

“Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the higest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all cicumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

- 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18
